Zomato is reportedly piloting a new concept called ‘Zomato Now’, installing food vending machines at select corporate workplaces in Gurugram as part of its latest rapid food-delivery experiment, according to The Economic Times report. The fresh food pods, set up in partnership with food and restaurant brands, give office employees direct access to items from high-quality brands and restaurants. Zomato Now sits alongside sister company Blinkit’s 10-minute food delivery service, Bistro, which operates through its own cloud kitchens. In May 2025, parent company Eternal shut down its second rapid-delivery attempt and consolidated the experiment under Bistro. Competition in rapid and alternative food-delivery models is intensifying. Swiggy has scaled its 10-minute service Bolt, shut down its Bistro-like offering Snacc, and launched standalone food-delivery app Toing. Mobility company Rapido has also entered food delivery with its Ownly platform.

DPIIT partners with PhonePe, Shell India to boost startup support and innovation Here's what you need to know: 👇 1. India's Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has signed separate agreements with PhonePe and Shell India aimed at increasing support for recognised startups. 2. Under the agreement with PhonePe, DPIIT-recognised startups will receive transaction credits through the company's Payment Gateway, access to the Indus AppStore, dedicated onboarding and support services, and opportunities for greater brand visibility. 3. Shell India will provide mentorship and strategic guidance, as well as connections with investors and incubators. Matrimony.com moves Supreme Court in 'Jodii' Jodi365 trademark dispute, offers 'Jodi Matrimony' rename as court asks to explore settlement Here's what you need to know: 👇 1. Matrimony.com and FreeElective Network, operator of Jodi365, are exploring a settlement after the Supreme Court indicated it was not inclined to interfere with a Madras High Court order restraining the use of the ‘Jodii’ brand. 2. Matrimony.com launched Jodii in October 2021 as a Tamil-language matchmaking app before expanding it to other Indian languages. 3. FreeElective has used Jodi365 since 2009 and registered it as a composite device mark in 2010, later alleging trademark infringement and passing off. 4. A Madras High Court single judge dismissed the suit in July 2022, but a Division Bench overturned the ruling on August 11, 2026. 5. Matrimony.com offered to rename the app ‘Jodi Matrimony’, with the Supreme Court asking both sides to discuss the proposal and explore an amicable settlement.

B2B quick-commerce startup Digidukan raises Rs 2 crore in angel funding to expand construction procurement platform Here's what you need to know: 👇 1. Jaipur-based B2Bquick-commerce startup Digidukan has raised Rs 2 crore in angel funding from Vinay Gupta and Shubham Gupta, directors at United Plywood Group. 2. The funding will be used to strengthen the startup's technology and product capabilities, expand into additional construction-material categories and support higher order volumes. 3. Digidukan also plans to increase its presence across Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets. 4. Founded by Lakshya Agarwal and Kshitij S. Rungta, Digidukan operates an on-demand procurement platform for construction-material retailers, with a model designed to deliver orders within 60 minutes. An independent benchmarking exercise commissioned by Paytm has found that the remuneration of founder and CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma is materially below the benchmarks for comparable companies. 2. The board of parent One 97 Communications has now proposed a revision, according to the notice for the company's 26th annual general meeting. 3. Sharma took total remuneration of Rs 4.33 crore in FY26, including perquisites, down from Rs 4.5 crore the previous year. His base pay has not changed since 19 August 2022. He holds no employee stock options in the company.
