Zomato founder and Eternal Vice Chairman Deepinder Goyal said the company could turn to drones if it faced a shortage of delivery partners in the future. His remarks came in response to an X user named Shariq, who suggested that everyone might become a delivery worker within the next 15 years. Goyal replied, “I hope not. We need better jobs. We will look forward to moving to drones when we don’t have enough people for the job.” Earlier, Goyal said 31 lakh Indians earned through Zomato and Blinkit as delivery partners in FY2025-26, a 57% increase from the previous year. He also claimed that Eternal, the parent company of both platforms, supports the livelihoods of well over 1% of India's population, including delivery partners, employees, warehouse workers and their families. Notably, Goyal expressed hope that this figure could reach 5% by 2030.
